Hilary Duff returns to 2026 AMA Awards in sultry metallic gown

The singer-actress, 38, walked on the red carpet at the AMAs in a metallic chainmail gown with silver stilettos on Monday, May 25.

She kept her accessories light with dangling earrings and dainty rings so her dress could do the talking.

Duff's ensemble, which isreportedly from Rabanne, made a statement on stage as she presented theaward for New Artist of the Year.

It's her first time at theaward ceremony since 2005,according to People. That year, the former Disney starperformedher song "Beat Of My Heart."

Duff is reclaiming the spotlight

Duff's AMA appearance comes amid her comeback to the spotlight. The "So Yesterday" singer was one of the stars who graced the cover ofthe 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, rocking a cream one-piece bathing suit by OYE Swimwear.

"I'm a mom of four, and I'm not a spring chicken," Duff told the magazine of her Sports Illustrated debut. "I don't typically frolic around in a bathing suit, so it was a little scary. But it was also incredibly empowering. It was a mostly female crew on set, and it really felt like a celebration of women."

Earlier this year, Duff took fans back to the beginning with herLas Vegas residency,where she performed songs like "Wake Up" and "Someone's Watching Over Me."

Following the release of her latest project, "Luck...or something," Duff isgearing up for her "Lucky Me Tour"this summer.

Speaking toBillboard on the 2026 AMA Awardsred carpet, she said she has "some surprises" in store for her upcoming show.

During an interview onBBC Soundsreleased on Sunday, May 24, McCartney, 83, discussed traveling the world to perform withThe Beatlesand his solo career. The “Maybe I'm Amazed” singer was asked if he would giveSwift, 36, any advice as she appears to have accomplished the same level of global fame.

“You do see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame,” said McCartney in a clip from the interview posted onBBC Radio 2's Instagram.

“The worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had, but I don't think she needs any advice to tell you the truth,” he continued with a chuckle.

At the height of Beatlemania,John Lennondescribed the foursome as “bigger than Jesus” in a 1966 interview with U.K. newspaperThe London Evening Standard. He subsequently apologized for the comment in a press conference held before the band's final U.S. tour.

The “Yesterday” artists have sold over 600 million albums worldwide and remain the group with the most No. 1 hits in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

BBC journalist Vernon Kay emphasized McCartney's musical accomplishments in the BBC Sounds interview as he continued to quiz the singer about advice for Swift.

“If she asked for it, I definitely would,” said McCartney. “I'm like the older brother to that generation, or more like the grandad, actually.”

The “Silly Love Songs” singer revealed that he's met Swift and pop stars includingBillie Eilish,Olivia RodrigoandSabrina Carpenterat parties hosted by his wife,Nancy Shevelland daughter,Stella McCartney.

“They're really cool people, they're very good,” he said of the singers.

“I like their voices,” McCartney continued, adding, “If they need any advice, yeah, I would be happy to give it, but I don't think they do.”

Swift broke the Beatles' record for having the most songs simultaneously on the United World Top 10 chart in October last year, U.K. newspaperThe TelegraphandParadereported. The “Opalite” singer racked up seven songs, while the Liverpudlian band had six in 1964.

McCartney's candid comments about Swift come after he spoke aboutnot wanting to take photos with fansduring a recent appearance onThe Rest Is Entertainment, a U.K.-based podcast.

He confessed to having a “long-winded explanation” that has to do with a tourist attraction in Saint-Tropez, France, when people ask him to pose for a snap.

“There's a guy on the beachfront who's got a monkey, and you pay to have your photo taken with the monkey,” McCartney explained. “So I say, ‘I really do not want to feel like that monkey. And when I take a picture with you, I do feel like him. I'm not me. I'm suddenly something else.”

“It's a phenomenon of how we live now,” he concluded.

Lopez sported a white lace, cutaway dress for the event while Max and Emme dressed down.

The “On The Floor” singer even showed off her musical prowess as the crew enjoyed a passionate sing-along to “Total Eclipse of the Heart” byBonnie Tyler.

Lopez welcomed her kids with ex-husbandMarc Anthonyin February 2008, tellingPEOPLEwhen they were age 6 that the love she felt for them was “unconditional."

“I know everybody feels this way about their kids, but I just feel like they're super special. I can't wait to see what they do," she added, noting, "I feel like my job is to not mess them up too much.”

Emme has followed in Lopez's multi-talented footsteps as a singer and author and once shocked fans by joining her mother onstage during her 2020 Super Bowl performance and belting out “Let's Get Loud.”

But while Lopez is incredibly proud of her kids, the actress previously admitted that being a mom to teenagers comes with new challenges.

"The teenage years are tough," she said in an interview onLive with Kelly and Markin May 2023. "It's challenging. You have this baby for a while and then it's like, your best little friend who loves being with you all the time, and then all of a sudden it's like, 'Get out of my room.' "

“They are challenging everything you say and everything you do and everything you are, and that's what it is,” she added. “You have to kind of just ride the waves."

"I think it's particularly hard on moms, because they always love dad, they're always like, 'Dad's the best!' — and I was like that with my dad too!" she continued, turning to her mom,Guadalupe Rodríguez, who joined her on the show. "And my mom told me, and I'll say it to you right now, on TV in front of everybody. I understand you so much more now."

Elsewhere in the interview, Lopez commented on how she parents differrently to her mother, revealing that she was "looser" than her mom.

"I think my mom, for a long time, was a stay-at-home mom, and I've always been a working mom, so that right there is a very different thing,' she continued. "And also she was 20 years old — by the time she was 26, she had 3 kids."

"So she was kind of a kid raising kids. And I had my kids when I was 38, so I had them much later, so I was more of an adult at that time," said Lopez. "We kind of grew up together," she concluded.
